Great ambiance, good drinks, food and staff. We came in for dinner and the they were super under staffed, but they were super apologetic about it.

The food servings were just right to say Texas servings. Love their concept of donuts on everything. Overall dope!

We will definitely come back when we're in Austin again!

My family and I came here early afternoon on a Sunday and was able to get a table inside immediately for a party of 8. My family decided to eat here for brunch before heading back home since we came to town for the weekend. I ordered from the Brunch menu and got the Dirty Plucker because I wanted to try the concept of chicken and waffles but with a donut. It felt like we had to wait quite a while for the food to come (about 30 mins) since they waited for all of the party's food to come at once versus separately.

Dirty Plucker: 2/5 - This dish comes with 2 chicken pieces, that is covered with honey butter, on top of a huge donut that is covered with maple icing. Just my opinion, but I thought it was too sweet for my sweet tooth liking. I ended up scraping the icing and eating the donut like that. I didn't see anything special about this dish.

Maybe I didn't order the right dish, but I wasn't blown away. Overall, the food was alright and more of the sweet side. The hostess and our waiter were wonderful! I might have to come back again whenever to order the right dish.

We've been meaning to go here for years and finally made a stop today.

We arrived with a party of 5 around 12:45. The parking lot is small (if you went to Kerbey Lane when it was in this location it will take you back) and we had to park back down the side street. There was one party of 6 waiting for a table to be cleaned and us. We were quoted 20-30 and the wait was about half that.

The beginning of service was a little slow. The restaurant seemed busy but not slammed. Tables began to open shortly after we arrived and a few tables stayed open. We ordered soft drinks after around 5 minutes and they arrived around 5 minutes later. We were ready to order but there was another wait to order.

The appetizer was slow to come. We were ok as long as the meals didn't come immediately following. We had time with the appetizer but the pacing was a little off.

From there, everything was great with service. They seemed to catch up from the rush that must have finished before we arrived.

There was nothing to complain about in service but it was like being in a restaurant in the middle of a rush that wasn't in the middle of a rush.

Now the food. Great! Everything we had was good.

The trippple play appetizer had something for all of us (family of 5). The kids gravitated to the queso and ranch based dip. I loved the pimento cheese. The queso was good but not unique. The ranch dip was unique with diced tomatoes and blue cheese crumbles. I love pimento cheese, this was good, and you don't get it at a lot of places. The potato chips were good but the 3 dips were the stars (although my daughter really liked the chips).

The fried chicken (think chicken and waffles) were very good. Great preparation and cooked perfectly. My youngest loved it. The meat loaf I had was good. It was a stack of a savory donut, a potato latke, meat loaf, and an over medium egg. My oldest enjoyed his CFS (basically swap the proteins on what I had). My wife's salad was the most surprisingly good thing we were served. Nice salad with candied pecans, strawberries, and fried chicken. I will order a salad on my next visit.

The dessert deserves a new paragraph. We're were stuffed but ordered a "cherry bomb" to share. Homemade donut holes with spiced cherry sauce (like pie filling) and a glaze (pretty sure there was some cream cheese in the glaze). Very tasty.

We will be back. It's not an every day or every week for us. Something like a monthly or quarterly guilty pleasure seems about right.

I will preface this by saying it's strictly about the food and not the service. We sat outside and the service is markedly slower (not sure if this is typical) so keep that in mind if you don't want to be scorched. We ordered the Fatback, El Diablo and Texas A' Migas on the brunch menu. For drinks, iced tea, Paloma and Bloody Mary. The iced tea is classic, the Paloma is great if you're looking for a refreshing grapefruit drink and the Bloody Mary was probably one of the best I've had. Being Canadian, I've always found Caesars better but this one comes close.

The Fatback is the one I ordered and was a little less exciting than I expected but still good. Bacon, eggs, and potato pancakes that were a creamy mashed potato texture and two classic doughnuts. Had a bite of the El Diablo and the jalapeños have a bit of a sweeter taste but delicious. I feel my favorite one to take a bite of was the Texas A Migas. Unique flavor piled onto a large doughnut. It's a super novel restaurant if you love doughnuts!

Do not eat here if you are counting calories or macros. Just smelling the air will get you because each and every dish is served with a donut in some form or fashion. For this reason I ordered a dessert donut for dinner - cream cheese topping, strawberry jam and bacon (that counts for protein, right?) My friends let me indulge in bites of fried chicken and donut. The chicken salad came out and I almost snarfed my drink. It looked like a bucket of chicken but down under it was greens and donut!

The creativity here is off the charts and if you aren't dieting or gluten free you will love it! Just go hungry. Very hungry!
